    Sophia Grinston, a 2024 graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a concentration in fashion design, brings a unique blend of creativity and adaptability shaped by her upbringing as a military child. Having moved every three years, Sophia's experiences have honed her ability to swiftly acclimate to new environments, enriching her perspective and approach to design.
    Fluent in both English and German, Sophia possesses a multicultural fluency that adds depth to her work. During her tenure at VCU, Sophia engaged in a transformative collaboration with AlterNatives, a prominent local business in Richmond, Virginia. Together, they crafted a sophisticated spring/summer collection tailored for discerning middle-aged women, infused with a fusion of natural textiles and handwoven fabrics sourced from Oaxaca.
    Sophia's dedication to her craft is matched only by her academic prowess, earning her prestigious scholarships like the James Kieran Foley Scholarship and accolades such as the VCUarts Dean's List Award. Her journey at VCU not only enriched her design skills but also solidified her commitment to excellence and innovation in the fashion industry.
